ElderConnect, an initiative of Eldercare Foundation of Vancouver Island, began as an online
directory for resources and education to make navigating the journey of aging easier.
The new hub for ElderConnect is the Yakimovich Wellness Centre, which offers relevant and
reliable public education sessions to help you access resources to better navigate your health,
and to enrich your aging journey.
Thanks to Eldercare donors, these sessions are always free, and free of sales too.
Led by subject matter experts and health care professionals, education sessions are primarily geared towards older adults and family caregivers covering topics such as:
- navigate your health and wellness as you age
- manage chronic health conditions
- connect with caregiver support
- future planning, end-of-life care, and grief support
- navigate and access resources in community and within Island Health
The Yakimovich Wellness Centre is located at Hillside Seniors Health Centre at 1454 Hillside Ave in Victoria, BC, but serves seniors Island wide. Sessions are a mix of in-person and online courses that can be accessed from the comfort of your own home.
Sessions at the Yakimovich Wellness Centre are proudly funded by Eldercare Foundation of Vancouver Island, a charity that believes all seniors deserve the chance to age with dignity.
